Xiaomi has unveiled a 20W Type-C USB charger that is compatible with the newly launched Apple iPhone 12 series. The new charger is also compatible with older iPhone models including iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2020). The new move comes just days after Apple announced its decision to remove the USB adapter that came with the new iPhone models. In addition to the new Type C USB charger, Xiaomi has brought the Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition in a completely yellow shade.
Xiaomi 20W USB Type-C Charger, Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition Price
The Xiaomi 20 W USB Type C charger has a price of CNY 39 (around Rs. 400) while the Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition comes at a price CNY 99 (approximately Rs. 1,100). The 20W Type-C USB Charger will be available in China on Tuesday November 3rd and is currently available for pre-reservations. The Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition, on the other hand, will be available on the Chinese market from Thursday, November 5th. In addition, details of the global launch of the 20 W USB Type C charger and the Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition are still to be revealed.
Specifications of the Xiaomi 20W USB Type-C charger
The 20W USB Type-C charger is said to charge 45 percent of the iPhone 11 battery in 30 minutes. The charger also supports a voltage of 100 to 240 V and works with devices such as the iPad and the Nintendo Switch. Xiaomi claims that it additionally offered advanced circuitry and chip that provide safety from shock and overcurrent events.
Unlike a traditional 5W adapter, the 20W USB Type-C charger is compatible with various fast charging protocols to provide a fast charging experience on different devices. The presence of the USB Type-C port on the charger also makes it a suitable option for iPhone 12 buyers as the new iPhone comes with a USB-C cable but no adapter is included.
The 20 W USB Type-C charger measures 38 x 22.2 x 43 mm and weighs 43.8 grams.
Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition specifications
The Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition contains a 10,000 mAh lithium-ion battery and supports 18 W fast charging. The power bank has two USB Type-A ports that can be used to charge two devices at the same time. However, only one connection delivers 18 W fast charging. There is also support for charging low-power devices, including wearables.
Xiaomi has provided micro USB and USB Type-C ports for charging the power bank. The latter can be used together with an 18 W adapter for fast charging. Xiaomi claims that the power bank can be fully charged in just four hours.
The Mi Power Bank 3 Pikachu Edition can charge a Redmi K30 Pro 1.2 times or the iPhone SE (2020) 2.8 times when fully charged. The company has also provided LED indicators to show details of the battery level. In addition, there is Pikachu branding to attract Pokemon fans.
As with any other Mi Power Bank, the new model is touted to provide users with a safe charging experience through an advanced circuit. The power bank measures 147.8 x 73.9 x 15.3 mm.
