With the new Apple patent, you can change any letter on your keyboard

In recent years, Apple has updated the keyboards on its MacBooks with additions like the Touch Bar, which you can program yourself, and Touch ID, Apple’s fingerprint sensor. However, it is challenging to make more drastic changes to keyboards because of the numbers, letters, and symbols printed on them.

According to recent patent documents from Apparently Applethe tech giant with its “reconfigurable keyboard” design could be on the verge of shaking up future keyboards.

The patent states that each key could have a different “associated key display” and that there are so-called “dynamic labels” on the display which can be programmed by the user.
