With Microsoft Outlook for iPad, you can now drag and drop files from other apps

Microsoft Outlook has received an update to iOS that supports dragging and dropping between apps on iPad using split view. The update brings the app to version 4.60.0. Users can attach files and pictures by dragging and dropping them from OneDrive, Files, Photo, Safari, and Outlook email attachments while using Split View on iPad. Thanks to the update, it is also possible to drag contacts from the search to the recipient list and store them there.

This addition from Microsoft makes multitasking easier in the Outlook app for iPadOS. The update has started and the new function takes place a mention in the changelog of the same in the App Store. This feature was introduced in the iPad version of iOS a few years ago.

Microsoft had talked about the drag and drop feature in a publication Note about version 2.42 a few weeks ago. As an example, the technology giant stated that users can open their Photos app at the same time as Outlook and then drag and drop a selection of images and email attachments.

Alongside this, Microsoft also mentioned other features that are being introduced on iPad tablets. With iPadOS 14 and Apple Pencil, users can write their emails and the handwritten messages are automatically converted to text via Scribble. You can also delegate mailboxes, that is, give someone else in your organization permission to manage your e-mail.

Microsoft recently announced it would add an AI-based noise cancellation feature for teams that would automatically remove unwanted background noise during meetings. There’s already a noise cancellation feature in the app, but now users can control how much background noise they want to cancel.

Microsoft Office will get a one-time payment release for Windows and Mac in the second half of 2021.
