The Samsung Galaxy M31 Android 11 update is introduced

Samsung Galaxy M31 has started receiving the Android 11 based stable update for One UI 3.0 in India, according to users on the community forum. The Galaxy M31 is the latest phone in Samsung’s portfolio to be updated to Android 11. It is also the first mid-range cell phone to receive the operating system upgrade. The Samsung Galaxy M31 was launched back in February last year with Android 10 and was reportedly one of the first mid-range phones to be part of the One UI 3.0 beta program. The phone has all of the new UI features from One UI 3.0 plus the latest Android security patch.

The update includes versions M315FXXU2BUAC, M315FODM2BUAC, and M315FDDU2BUAA and comes with the Android security patch for January 2021.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 Android 11 update has new icons and better customizations for adding call backgrounds and customizing Always On Display for the phone. You will also see a Conversations section in notifications and a trash folder in Messages, which will store deleted messages for 30 days. The update is supposed to improve the autofocus and add a search function to the gallery. The Settings menu has been made easier with the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update, and some improvements have also been made to the Samsung keyboard.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 also offers some improvements in productivity, media, and device control. The changelog shared in the community forum says that some apps need to be updated separately after installing the One UI 3.0 update.

The Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy M31 is 407.62 MB in size. If you haven’t received the notification yet, go to the settings > Software update manually search for it. When you see the update, tap Download and install to start the update process.

Samsung is said to have also updated Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy S20 FE 5G and several other flagship smartphones to Android 11 since early December 2020.
