At CES 2021, Samsung will present four projects from its internal incubation program C-Lab Inside and 17 startups supported by its startup acceleration program C-Lab Outside. C-Lab Inside projects include an Air Pocket portable oxygen storage device, an IoT device that can classify fabrics and recommend care options called Scan & Dive, a service called Food & Sommelier that combines food and wine for your meals, and a App that automatically calibrates the picture quality of your TV, EZCal.
The South Korean tech giant has announced The C-Lab Inside projects and the startups under C-Lab Outside that will be presented at CES 2021, which starts January 11th and lasts until January 14th. The projects selected by Samsung reflect a stay at home that reflects the new normal and, according to Samsung, a focus on personalized products and services for different lifestyles.
One of the C-Lab Outside startups Samsung will introduce is Magpie Tech, which has been working on a children’s growth management device called “kiko” (a smart height and weight scale). Bitbyte offers a keyboard theme service where characters react to the text entered, and Designovel has developed an AI-powered fashion design tool.
Launched in October 2018, C-Lab Outside is a startups acceleration program that provides office workplaces, mentoring from Samsung employees, financial support and more for registered startups.
Other innovations from C-Lab Outside that will be presented at CES 2021 include a real tool for creating avatars through 3D scanning and VR / AR from Flux Planet, an AI-based anonymization of personal information through Deeping Source and a digital note service enables easy PDF editing with pen gestures from Flexcil.
Other notable C-Lab Outside startups to feature include an online K-Pop training service from the Counter Culture Company and fortune-telling and mental care-based chatbots from Thingsflow.
Three startups from C-Lab Inside have been selected by CTA (The Consumer Technology Association) as CES 2021 innovation award winners in the field of health and wellness. The winners are Luple, who developed a portable and artificial sunlight device. Breathings, maker of an IoT device that easily manages respiratory health; and Linkface with a neckband device that monitors respiratory and heart-related biosignals.
