The Mandalorian Season 3 release date might not be before 2022

The Mandalorian Season 3 release date will most likely be in 2022. Its creator and showrunner Jon Favreau shed light on how the Boba Fett book and Mandalorian Season 3 will fit together in terms of release date. The Boba Fett book, which is currently in production, will be the next Star Wars series in December 2021. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy had previously said that “the next chapter” will fall in December 2021 in what many considered the Mandalorian season 3, but Favreau made it clear that she wanted to say “the next show”. The Mandalorian season 3 will come “pretty soon” after The Book of Boba Fett, which, given its premiere in late 2021, suggests we won’t see Mando until 2022.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Review: The Star Wars Cinematic Universe Awakens

“We wanted to hold this back because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement of all the shows when Kathleen Kennedy was up there, so they let me keep this a secret,” Favreau told the hosts of Good Morning America on Monday . “So that’s actually separate from Season 3 of The Mandalorian. But what we didn’t say in that announcement is that the next show is coming up – Kathy said the next chapter – and that will be Boba Fett’s book.

“And then right after that, we’re going into production for the third season of The Mandalorian, back with the main character we all know and love. So that will be pretty soon after that. We’re doing preproduction right now while we’re working on Boba Fett. “

Also on Monday, Disney revealed the official logo for The Book of Boba Fett and announced the main cast and crew. Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will return as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, respectively, as we assumed. Favreau will serve as executive producer alongside Star Wars veteran Filoni and Robert Rodriguez. He was the director of The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 6 “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” in which Morrison returned as Fett.

Favreau also revealed that Filoni is currently writing Ahsoka, another spin-off from The Mandalorian following Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), the Jedi we met in Episode 5 of The Mandalorian, Season 5, “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” written by Filoni and was staged. Ahsoka was first featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2008 and then played a role in the animated series of the same name, followed by a major role in Star Wars Rebels.

The Star Wars movie universe has grown massively since The Mandalorian premiered last November. We moved from one live-action Star Wars series to eight in 13 months. In addition to the above three there are Andor which Diego Luna’s Rogue One character follows, Obi Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, The Acolyte from Leslye Headland of the Russian doll, Lando by Justin Simien of Dear White People and Rangers of the New Republic (a third Mandalorian spin-off) from Favreau and Filoni.

The book by Boba Fett will premiere on Disney + and Disney + Hotstar in December 2021. The Mandalorian season 3 will follow “pretty soon”.
