Spider-Man 3 goes all the way. Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, Emma Stone, Kirsten Dunst, and Alfred Molina – they have played Peter Parker, Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane, and Doctor Octopus in previous Spider-Man films – are scheduled to join in talks about the cast of the next Spider- Man-Films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s a lot of stars. And all three Parkers in one movie. In addition, it is essentially reiterating that Spider-Man 3 will address the multiverse concept developed by Avengers: Endgame and confirmed in its immediate MCU follow-up and Spider-Man predecessor, Spider-Man: Far From Home has been.
Collider brings news of the new casting developments on the as yet unnamed Spider-Man 3. Garfield, Dunst and Molina have been confirmed, the report says. Maguire’s presence is pending until Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios work out a deal while Stone’s performance revolves around her pregnancy, Collider added. There’s no word on the extent of their roles, though given the overcrowding of Spider-Man 3 – Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Jamie Foxx’s Electro – alongside the returning cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home, it’s very likely that these big ones are also involved Stars will be limited to a cameo or something more.
If all of this goes according to plan, Spider-Man 3 will be a sucker of a movie, clearly based on the idea developed by its animation counterpart, Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It will be interesting to see how the new film shows off these characters we haven’t known for a while. While the characters of Garfield, Stone and Foxx have not been seen in seven years (until the next Spider-Man movie comes out), it will be 14 years for Maguire and Dunsts Parker and Jane and 17 years for Molina Doc Ock, the starred in the memorable Spider-Man 2.
In addition to Garfield, Maguire, Stone, Dunst, Molina, Cumberbatch and Foxx, the cast of Spider-Man 3 also includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker from the MCU, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as May Parker and Tony Revolori as Eugene “Flash” Thompson. Jon Watts returns as a director working on a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing Spider-Man 3, which began filming in the US city of Atlanta in late October (three months delayed due to COVID-19) and will continue in Los Angeles and Iceland before closing in March 2021 End goes.
