The Redmi phone with Snapdragon 888 SoC could be the cheapest in the market among smartphones equipped with the latest Qualcomm mobile chipset. Xiaomi recently launched its flagship smartphone Mi 11 in China. The Redmi sub-brand is now working on its own Snapdragon 888 SoC-capable phone. It is expected to come code-named Haydn Model K11. In addition, alleged live images of Redmi K40 have surfaced showing the rear camera module and the front hole punch design.
Redmi is said to be working on a Snapdragon 888 SoC smartphone, which, according to a, is the cheapest offer with the new Qualcomm SoC post Office from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station (translated) on Weibo. While several companies have announced plans to launch flagship smartphones with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, Redmi could launch one that costs the least. However, there is currently no official pricing information for this phone, but the tipster says it will be code-named Haydn Model K11.
In other news were alleged live images of Redmi K40 divided from another tipster on Weibo. These show the front of the phone with a cutout hole, the back with a quad rear view camera and a USB Type-C port next to a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom.
Earlier this month it was announced that the Redmi K40 will have a Pro and a vanilla variant, with the Pro variant containing a Snapdragon 8 SoC and the standard vanilla variant containing a Snapdragon 7 SoC. Redmi K40 could be powered by the unannounced Snapdragon 775 SoC, while Redmi K40 Pro could be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC (at the time it was believed to be the Snapdragon 875 SoC that powers the phone).
So far, Xiaomi has not shared any information about the rumored Redmi phone with the Snapdragon 888 SoC or the Redmi K40 series.
