Redmi 9T is set to debut on January 8th

According to a tipster, the launch of Redmi 9T is planned for January 8th. The new Redmi phone has been part of the rumor mill so far and is speculated as a renamed version of the Redmi Note 9 4G, which debuted in China in November and arrived in India as the Redmi 9 Power with its own camera setup. In addition to Redmi 9T, Xiaomi is expected to launch at least eight new phones worldwide earlier this year. The lineup could also include Mi 11 Lite 4G.

The tipster, who is known under the pseudonym Snapdrachun 888 5G (@ chunvn8888), tweeted the alleged launch date of Redmi 9T. The phone was teased in Malaysia on Wednesday, with its arrival indicated for early January.

In addition to the start date of Redmi 9T, the tipster also shares tweeted Xiaomi planned to launch at least nine phones in world markets in early 2021, including the Redmi 9T, Mi 11 and Mi 11 Lite 4G. However, Xiaomi has not yet provided any official launch details.

Redmi 9T specifications (expected)

It is speculated that Redmi 9T will be available as a revamped Redmi Note 9 4G. The phone is said to have recently been certified by Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). It showed up on the NBTC website with the model number M2010J19ST and the moniker Redmi 9T. The online list did not contain any technical specifications for the new phone. However, if it turns out to be the renamed version of the Redmi Note 9 4G, it will likely come with a 6.53-inch Full HD + display (1080 x 2340 pixels) and Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, as well as 4 GB RAM and supplied Up to 128 GB of onboard storage.

Redmi Note 9 4G hit the Indian market last month as the Redmi 9 Power, with a quad rear camera setup and various RAM and storage options. The Redmi 9T is likely to follow the same pattern and may include some changes from the existing Redmi Note series phone.
