Razer presents Smart Mask and Gaming Chair with Rollout Screen at CES 2021

Razer unveiled a smart mask concept called Project Hazel at CES 2021. Project Hazel is an N95-class face mask and has active ventilation and an automatic sterilization function. It will have a low light mode that includes interior lights that turn on automatically when it gets dark. The mask has a transparent design that allows others to see your face when you speak, and a built-in microphone and amplifier combination. Razer also unveiled Project Brooklyn, a concept gaming chair with a 60-inch rollout display.

The projects were showcased by Razer at CES 2021, which has gone virtual this year due to the ongoing pandemic and will last until January 14th. Although the projects are currently only prototypes and may not start, Razer actually brought some innovative concepts to the table.

Features of the Project Hazel Smart Mask

Razer says that Project Hazel is a prototype of “the smartest mask ever made”. It focuses on five key areas – safe, social, sustainable, comfortable and personalized. The smart mask comes with a wireless charging case that is lined with a UV light interior that can kill bacteria and viruses when the mask is charged. It also glows from red to green to indicate the battery level.

The built-in microphone and amplifier are designed to ensure that your speech is not muffled when you wear the smart mask. Project Hazel offers 16.8 million colors and effects, as well as two customizable lighting zones with Razer Chroma RGB lighting. It can be customized to suit your face shape.

Project Hazel has active ventilation, which, according to Razer, brings in cool air that releases heat when you exhale while preventing the build-up of CO2. The silicone protector sits around your face to prevent air from entering. The mask itself doesn’t touch or rest on your face, according to Razer. The smart mask is made of recycled plastic and is waterproof and scratch-resistant. It has replaceable filters and fans.

Project Brooklyn Gaming Chair features

Brooklyn Project is a concept gaming chair with a 60-inch OLED rollout display. According to Razer, the chair will “redefine the meaning of total immersion.” The company describes it as a gaming chair that transforms into a full-fledged entertainment rig and enables next-generation immersion in PC and console gaming.

The 60-inch rollout OLED display is stowed at the rear and is brought to the front at the push of a button. The chair comes with a compact table that is tucked into the 4D armrests. You can easily switch between console games and PC games with a mouse and keyboard. Project Brooklyn uses Razer’s Hypersense technology to achieve near-zero latency. It is powered by Razer Chroma RGB lighting and can be personalized by choosing from 16.8 million available colors.

Project Brooklyn’s leather-stitched seat features pillows that support your unique body shape. The seat is provided with a robust carbon fiber body, which ensures a perfect posture during the game marathons.
