PUBG Mobile is returning to India, developers have announced

The developers of PUBG Mobile have announced that they are launching a new game called PUBG Mobile India to cater to Indian gamers. PUBG Mobile was banned by the Indian government back in September. Around the same time, PUBG Corporation announced that it would no longer approve the PUBG Mobile franchise for Tencent Games in Shenzhen, India. While the team announced that they would end access for users in India on October 30th, the game will still be playable for multiple people who had it installed on their Android and iOS devices.

PUBG Corporation has announced that it is preparing to launch a new game called PUBG Mobile India, which is “specially designed for the Indian market”. The new game will maximize data security for its players and comply with local regulations, the announcement said. PUBG Corporation states that the storage systems that hold Indian users’ personal information are regularly checked and audited to ensure that the data is kept safe.

The developers have also announced that they will be improving the in-game content and also adapting it to “reflect local needs”. These changes include a virtual simulation training environment, clothing for new characters, and green hit effects instead of red. A feature will also be added to limit game time for younger players.

In addition, PUBG Corporation plans to set up a local office that will employ over 100 people to improve communication and services with players. “In addition to setting up a local office, the company will seek to actively collaborate and use local businesses to strengthen its gaming service,” added the developers.

Finally, PUBG Corporation and parent company Krafton plan to invest $ 100 million (approximately Rs 746 million) in India to “support the local video game, esports, entertainment and IT industries promote”. As of now, the team has not announced a release date for PUBG Mobile India.

PUBG Mobile was banned in India along with PUBG Mobile Lite and 116 other apps in early September by the Indian government. The games were subsequently removed from the country’s Play Store and App Store. However, PUBG Mobile remained playable for people who already had it installed. On October 29th, the PUBG Mobile team announced on Facebook that from October 30th, Tencent Games will end all services and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (collectively “PUBG Mobile” ) On October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the intellectual property of PUBG. “

However, the game is still playable for multiple users. However, some players on Android and iOS devices have reported server connection issues preventing them from coming into play.

Indian fans of the game were largely disappointed with the news of the ban, be it casual gamers spending an hour a day playing the game or streamers making careers of it. As we discovered during our conversations with Indian streamers, there have been cases of loss of income and loss of opinion. In some cases, their fans have requested that they return to PUBG Mobile instead of playing other games. However, there have also been cases where some streamers have increased their viewership due to other games like Call of Duty: Mobile.
