The OnePlus watch is the long-rumored smartwatch that isn’t just real – it’s a polished wearable watch that looks like it might be among the best smartwatches of the day.
“Look” is the authoritative word – for this practical application with the smartwatch we will only talk about the appearance of the smartwatch.
The OnePlus watch is similar to other top smartwatches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 with a circular design and two function buttons on the right. The stainless steel metal watch case has a shiny finish, which is a nice change from the matte finishes and / or colored aluminum that adorn most watches today.
It’s also a fairly hefty smartwatch with a width and density of 46mm, which makes it too far on the big side for anyone with slimmer wrists or those who prefer smaller dials. But the wearable suits those who like their watches tight, with a design and material finish that feels more polished than your average smart device.
The rubber-like watch strap is a nice material with creeks on the sides, a nice touch compared to the flat straps on other smartphones, although its thickness can cause your skin to pinch as you tuck the strap back under you until you get it have worn im.
In summary, it can be said that the watch is of higher quality than other smartwatches at its price, which is easily half that of the comparable Apple Watches and Samsung Galaxy Watches.
In terms of fitness, performance, battery, software, and general user experience, you can count on any other smartphone on the market. All you have to do is wait with us for our full test to go online.
OnePlus Watch price and release date
The OnePlus watch comes in one size and configuration: 46mm dial with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage, and a single color: Midnight Black. It will go on sale on April 14th on the OnePlus website for $ 159 (about £ 115 / AU $ 208).
A Cobalt Limited Edition is also in the works, which will replace the stainless steel case with a cobalt alloy that is “twice as hard and more corrosion-resistant” than steel every March Press release.
According to the press release, the usual dial has been replaced with specially treated sapphire crystal with a Mohs rating of 9, which indicates greater scratch resistance and brightness than the glass on the standard model. OnePlus has not announced a price or release date for this version.
Design and display
As mentioned earlier, the OnePlus watch is indeed a very attractive smartwatch with a polished sheen and streamlined design that makes it look more expensive than it is. It’s available in a size that looks a little big for those wanting a smaller model, but has the polish to appeal beyond the tech-chic crowd.
The 46mm dial is larger than the larger 45mm version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, making it the new king of big smartwatches. While the latter lacks the rotating bezel, the OnePlus watch certainly looks like it has more screen real estate than Samsung’s flagship watch, but we’ll have to test the watch to find out.
The rubber-like watch strap feels thick, but at least it’s not thin and feels secure enough on the wrist to counter the heavy weight of the watch.
We can only report on the fitness features of the OnePlus Watch at the time of our full review.
OnePlus has confirmed that the watch has 110 training types and automatic training detection for jogging and running with 5ATM pressure resistance and IP68 water and dust resistance.
It records heart rate, distance via GPS, calories, swimming speed, blood oxygen saturation and stress level. Health information can be tracked through a new OnePlus Health smartphone app.
The clock has 4 GB of onboard memory, of which 2 GB is available for media. It is compatible with most Bluetooth earphones and can be connected to the OnePlus TV as a smart remote control. It can even turn off the television if the wearer is found to be asleep.
After a March Press releaseThe watch has a 402 mAh battery, which, according to OnePlus, allows continuous use of up to two weeks or, for more active users, a battery life of one week.
This capacity is between the 340 mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (for two to three days of battery life) and the 472 mAh battery of the original Samsung Galaxy Watch (for up to five days of battery life).
Because of the physical appearance and the fact that no other part of the user experience can be reported, the OnePlus watch is very attractive for a smartwatch.
