Representatives from Paytm and Google appeared on Thursday before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) dealing with the various aspects of the 2019 Personal Data Protection Act.
The JPC gathered ideas and detailed information from representatives of these companies on consumer protection.
The GPA will be calling representatives from telecommunications companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, and cabin aggregator companies Ola and Uber next week.
Sources said Reliance Jio representatives were asked to appear before the GPA on November 4th. Representatives from Ola and Uber will convene before the parliamentary committee on November 5th, while representatives from Bharti Airtel and Truecaller will convene on November 6th.
Previously, representatives from Twitter, Facebook and Amazon had submitted their statements to the JPC.
The JPC, chaired by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi, wants to compile the views of all stakeholders before the government submits the 2019 Personal Data Protection Bill in Parliament.
