Oppo Reno 5 Pro + 5G was teased earlier this month and confirmed for launch on Thursday, December 24th. In a new post, the company has now confirmed that a separate launch event for the introduction of the handset will be held. The kick-off event begins at 3:30 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m. IST) and should provide details on pricing and availability for the Oppo Reno 5 Pro + 5G. The phone has also been listed on China’s retail website JD.com and has announced specifications and design details ahead of the launch. An Oppo Reno 5 series phone was also spotted on NCC, indicating a global launch in the future.
The company grew Weibo to announce that the Oppo Reno 5 Pro + 5G launch event will take place at 3:30 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m. EST). In the run-up to the launch, Oppo has also published various teasers that confirm that the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and has a Sony IMX766 sensor on board. It is also confirmed that there is 65W fast charge support.
Oppo Reno 5 Pro + 5G was also listed on JD.com before the start. Although the price was not listed, its renderings and key specs were broadcast live. The Oppo Reno 5 Pro + 5G is available in two color options: “Galaxy Into a Dream” and “Floating Night Light Shadow”. The phone is listed online in two configurations: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB. The renderings show a punch indicator with the cutout in the upper left corner. There is a slight chin at the bottom and a quad camera at the back. There are three sensors in a line and a fourth sensor in parallel. Oppo Reno 5 Pro + 5G specifications listed on JD.com are the same as the company’s.
A new Oppo phone, model number CPH2145, was also reportedly discovered on the National Communications Commission (NCC) website. The website appears to have live footage of the handset and the images suggest it could be a Reno 5 series phone. This alleged NCC listing was discovered by tipster @the_tech_guy. This suggests that the Oppo Reno 5 5G series may also be launched in markets outside of China.
