The Moto G 5G is now officially in India. The device is India’s first smartphone with the latest technology Snapdragon 750G Chipset. The Moto G 5G is also India’s cheapest 5G phone, dethroning the OnePlus Nord.
Of course, India is still some time away from upgrading to 5G networks, even though two of the three cellular operators namely Jio and Airtel have released updates about their travels into the high-speed internet world. In fact, Aopalel boss Gopal Vittal recently asked the federal government to keep frequency prices affordable in order to help mobile operators with the leeway to invest “sensibly” in 5G technology.
The Moto G 5G is the brand’s first 5G mid-range device. The price for the device is just over Rs 20,000, which makes things pretty interesting. The Moto G 5G was announced worldwide a few weeks ago and has made its way onto the Indian market today.
The two main features that the Moto G 5G brings to the table are performance and battery. As already mentioned, the device is powered by a 5G-capable Snapdragon 750G and is housed in a large 5000 mAh battery. That being said, the Moto G 5G is a very capable device by the rest of the specs, and Motorola has rated it quite aggressively in the Indian market.
Moto G 5G: price in India and availability
The Moto G 5G costs Rs 20,999 for the only 6 GB + 128 GB variant. The first sale is scheduled for December 7th. During the first sale, the Moto G 5G receives an instant discount of Rs 1,000 with the HDFC Bank Credit Card and an EMI transaction with a Debit / Credit Card.
Moto G 5G: design and display
Based on the display, the Moto G 5G has a plastic housing. You get a full screen display on the front and a hole in the middle. The bezels on the sides are narrow, while the bezel is noticeable on both the top and the chin. The device also has protection class IP52 for protection against water and dust. There’s also a dedicated Google Assistant button on board. It weighs 212 grams and is 9.9 mm thick.
The Moto G 5G has a 6.7-inch Full HD + (2,400 x 1,080) LTPS LCD Max Vision display. It’s an HDR10 certified panel with a screen-to-body ratio of 90% and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. The Moto G 5G is available in two color options – Frosted Silver and Volcanic Gray.
Moto G 5G: performance
The Moto G 5G is India’s first phone with a Snapdragon 750G in its heart. The 750G is said to offer a 20% improvement over the Snapdragon 730G SoC. The Adreno 619 GPU is said to improve graphics processing by 10%. The CPU has a maximum clock rate of 2.2 GHz and is based on an 8 nm manufacturing process. It uses the Snapdragon X52 modem for 5G connectivity in both the mmWave and sub-6GHz spectrum. The built-in modem also improves efficiency.
In India, the Moto G 5G is available in a single variant with 6 GB + 128 GB. It also supports microSD cards up to 1TB.
Moto G 5G: cameras
As for optics, the Moto G 5G offers a triple rear view camera stack with a primary 48MP (f / 1.7) shooter with PDAF, followed by an 8MP (f / 2.2) 118 ° sub-wide angle lens and a 2MP (f / 2.4) Macro vision camera. It has a single LED flash that leads at night. The camera features include night vision, smart composition, HDR, burst, manual mode, portrait mode, cinemagraph, panorama, live filter, high resolution zoom, RAW photo, google lens, AR sticker, slow motion, time lapse video, hyper error video, EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), special color for video. Up to 4K videos with 30 frames per second, Full HD with 60 frames per second and 1080 with 30 frames per second can be recorded in the ultra-wide angle lens.
Selfies are processed by a single 16MP (f / 2.2) shooter that can shoot at 30 fps up to Full HD. The camera functions include portrait mode, facial beauty, burst, cinemagraph, group selfie, live filter, spot color, gesture selfie, night vision, time-lapse video and hyperlapse video.
Moto G 5G: battery
The Moto G 5G has a massive 5000 mAh battery that the company claims can last for two days. It also supports fast charging TurboPower 20 which heats the device at a speed of 20W. Moto claims that you can get 10 hours of use on a 15 minute charge. It has a Type-C port for charging.
Everything else
The Moto G 5G runs on Android 10 OS. You get the My UX option, which allows you to control your phone with simple gestures. There’s also a dedicated Google Assistant button, and the fingerprint scanner is combined with the power button on the side. There is also NFC, dual band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. The Moto G 5G also keeps the good old 3.5mm headphone jack. Other features include a bottom power speaker, a hybrid slot, 5G, 4G VOLTE, 4G, 3G, 2G network support, and A-GPS, GLONASS and Galileo for navigation. On-board sensors include a proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.
