MagSafe Duo Wireless Charger reportedly found on Korea’s NRRA website

MagSafe Duo was reportedly discovered by Apple on a Korean compliance website. Apple introduced support for MagSafe wireless charging with its latest iPhone 12 lineup, which includes the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The MagSafe accessories presented at the event include a MagSafe charger, MagSafe Duo accessories, and a range of housings. While the cases and MagSafe charger went on sale on October 16, the pricing and availability details for MagSafe Duo were not disclosed. Now the accessory has been spotted on Korea’s National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) compliance website, suggesting that Apple is working on introducing the product in the future.

MacRumors discovered The MagSafe Duo wireless charger is on the NRRA certification body in Korea for the first time. The listing offers little information on pricing or availability, but it does indicate that Apple is working on introducing the accessory. While the MagSafe wireless charger can charge the iPhone, the MagSafe Duo can charge the iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. During the iPhone 12 event, Apple had vaguely said that the MagSafe Duo would be available at a later date.

The MagSafe charger costs Rs. 4,500 in India ($ 39 in the US), so the MagSafe Duo should be a bit more expensive due to its additional capabilities. Recently published Apple support pages confirm that the iPhone 12 mini supports wireless charging with 12 W MagSafe, while the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max can charge up to 15 W with the MAgSafe chargers support. Flash accessories like headphones that are compatible with the MagSafe charger offer wireless charging speeds as low as 7.5W to meet regulatory standards.

Apple also notes that iPhone 12 series devices with cases thicker than 2.1mm may not charge well through a MagSafe charger. It is said that cases with MagSafe support must have a uniform maximum thickness of 2.1mm, although it is recommended that they be 2.0mm thick.
