Disney + Hotstar has announced a list of 26 titles to be released on its Disney + Hotstar Premium platform in November 2020. The largest of these is the horror comedy Laxmii, directed by Akshay Kumar, which will be released on November 9th on Disney + Hotstar. Elsewhere, we have a new Mickey Mouse series in The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, which premieres on November 18th on Disney + Hotstar. Star Wars gets a new animated special with The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special on November 17th. We have two documentaries that take us into Pixar (it’s called Inside Pixar and it falls on November 13th) and one that explores fandom and history of Marvel Comics (this one is called Marvels 616 and arrives on November 20th).
That goes for large Disney + originals, but there are a few more thanks to Disney’s subsidiaries. Starting on TV 20th, we have Kate Mara-directed A Teacher, a miniseries extension of a movie that is airing on Hulu in the US and on Disney + Hotstar in India. A teacher starts November 11th. And from ABC we have the return of Grey’s Anatomy for season 17 (it could be the last) and Big Sky, a new detective practice from David E. Kelley, creator of Boston Legal and Big Little Lies. Season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy opens on November 13th and Big Sky debuts on November 18th on Disney + Hotstar.
What remains are two new entries from HBO. Industry, a new UK series that feels like Euphoria meets Succession, launches November 10th on Disney + Hotstar. And the fantasy epic His Dark Materials returns for season two in India on November 17th.
There’s also Mandalorian Season 2, which runs through November, and is seen as an opportunity for Disney to bounce back from the debacle of an ending for the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
In the sports sector, the (English) Premier League will be broadcast by football fans in November, while the Indian Premier League (IPL) twenty20 cricket tournament of the same name will close its 2020 season on November 13th in Dubai (thanks to the corona virus).
