iPhone 13 models may come with smaller notches and Wi-Fi 6E support

According to the latest rumors, the Pro models of the iPhone 13 series will be equipped with Pro Motion 120 Hz displays. The iPhone 13 series is following the same trend as the iPhone 12 series with four models – iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max – and screen sizes for these have been leaked. In addition, the size of the notch on iPhone models is said to have been reduced, which offers more space on the screen. Finally, the iPhone 13 series will be equipped with support for the Wi-Fi 6E standard.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series with no delays in September next year, as reported recently. A new leak That comes from the Korean publication ETNews and suggests that there will be four models in the range and that the iPhone 13 mini will have a 5.4-inch 60 Hz LTPS OLED display. The iPhone 13 should have a 6.1-inch 60 Hz LTPS OLED display, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max should have 6.1-inch 120 Hz LTPO OLED or 6.7 inch 120 Hz LTPO OLED displays.

A report earlier this month also mentioned that the iPhone 13 Pro models could come with Pro Motion 120Hz always-on displays.

Another leak According to Creativebloq, Apple can reduce the size of the notch for the iPhone 13 by reducing the size of the chip used for the front-facing camera. This would result in more screen real estate on the iPhone 13, but it’s unclear if all other models in the iPhone 13 series would get the same treatment.

Apple is also well prepared to equip the iPhone 13 series with Wi-Fi 6E, which, according to a, offers all the functions of Wi-Fi 6 plus an additional 6 GHz band report by Macrumors. This increases the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, resulting in less interference and improved bandwidth. As the publication shows, the US FCC 6GHz band opened for Wi-Fi and other unlicensed applications earlier this year that opened the door to Wi-Fi 6E support for devices. The report, which quotes analysts, adds that Apple has no plans to update the iPhone SE anytime soon.

Apple has not yet released any official information about the iPhone 13 series. Therefore, all these developments should be absorbed with a grain of salt for the time being.
