iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro teardown shows that they are almost identical inside

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have appeared in a new teardown video on a Chinese tech channel that shows how identically both new models are designed. When it launched last week, Apple announced that both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have the same screen size and dimensions. However, the latest breakdown shows us that in addition to their displays and dimensions, the two new iPhone models also have most of the internal components in common. It will be dismantled at the exact time the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro went on sale in key markets such as the US, UK, Australia, Canada, China and Japan.

However, the video shows that Apple used a plastic file on the iPhone 12 instead of the LiDAR sensor as well as the telephoto shooter, both available on the iPhone 12 Pro. This was apparently the case of both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro sharing the same compartments for internal components.

Similar to the back, the front of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have the same components. This includes the same TrueDepth camera system as well as the display assembly and earpiece.

The teardown video also mentions that most of the internal components of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are so identical that they could be easily interchangeable. However, Apple has not clarified whether an iPhone 12 part can be used in the iPhone 12 Pro or vice versa.

In addition, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro share the same 2,815 mAh battery. Of course, the MagSafe components and the wireless charging coil are identical in both models.

The numerous similarities between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro could convince a large number of customers of the non-Pro version, which is significantly cheaper. The difference is from Rs. 35,000 when looking at their India prices. We didn’t see this on the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro either, as both had some notable differences.

The main difference between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, however, is the build quality, as the former has an aluminum frame while the latter has a stainless steel design. The Pro version also offers a better photo experience thanks to the LiDAR sensor and the tele-shooter.
