Introduction of the Microsoft Surface Duo update

Microsoft Surface Duo just received an update that includes bug fixes and app tweaks, as well as improvements, as noted in an update on Google Play. The Microsoft Launcher update is now rolling out for Android users and brings improvements such as: For example, opening the feed page in landscape mode and at the same time with another app, support for screen time and searching for keywords in Office apps. Surface Duo is the first Android smartphone with two screens from Microsoft and has a 360-degree hinge with two separate OLED displays.

After this Microsoft Launcher Changelog in the Google Play Store (first) discovered from XDA developers) the update is delivered with firmware version 6.2.201102.92686. It’s now rolling out for Surface Duo in the US and brings tweaks and bug fixes that will be shared in the report.

The update brings improvements when opening the feed page in landscape mode and at the same time with another app on Surface Duo. It also gets a single screen overview and screen time support on Microsoft’s foldable device. The process of creating app groups via the context menu and the spacing and consistency of the symbols in the app drawer have been improved. Users can now search by keywords in Office apps on the device.

That being said, there are bug fixes in the app drawer, the size of the app icon, and the swipe up gesture. Earlier this month Microsoft announced that it will make Surface Duo available outside of the US. The company’s foldable Android phone will be available in Canada, the UK, France and Germany in early 2021.
