Honor Volume 6 release date and price
The Honor Band 6 will be announced on November 3rd. We know this because the company confirmed it on Weibo (a Chinese social network), although it is possible that it has only been announced on a Chinese website so far, with the first launch being entirely in China.
That means that while we will learn about the Honor Band 6’s specs and features on November 3rd, we may not learn about global pricing and availability.
However, you can expect the Honor Band 6 to get a wider launch sooner or later, as the Honor Band 5 did.
Although this wearable was easily available in the UK, it wasn’t officially launched in the US or Australia (although it was in stock from third-party suppliers) so the same goes for the Honor Band 6 – certainly the US is off the table given the ongoing Huawei ban (which also affects honor).
As for pricing, we’re only guessing for now, but it will likely cost a similar amount to the Honor Band 5, which launched for £ 29.99 / $ 34.99 (via third-party vendors), which is roughly AU 55 $ equals.
If anything, the Honor Band 6 could cost a little more as the Band 5 hit the market at a remarkably low price, and even undercut the Honor Band 4. In any case, the Honor Band 6 will almost certainly cost well under £ 100 / $ 100.
Honor Volume 6 Leaks and News
We don’t know much about Honor Band 6 yet, and most of what we’ve heard comes from Honor himself.
The big news came from a post the company posted on Weibo in which it said (via Google Translate) that the wearable is a “full-screen bracelet”. Presumably, this means the screen covers the entire body of the wearable, and the company has released a teaser image to support this, which you can see below.
As you can see, the wearable shown in the picture has a rectangular screen with a very small bezel. It also looks like the screen could be a bit wider than the Honor Band 5’s 0.95-inch screen, and the portable device apparently lacks its predecessor’s circular button below the display.
The Honor Band 5 already has a touchscreen, but it seems that the Band 6 relies entirely on touchscreen interactions. So it makes sense that the display is bigger. In our Honor Band 5 review, we noticed that the screen felt a bit small to wipe over.
We can’t tell anything else from the picture, but we can speculate that some things will be the same as the Honor Band 5. Band 6 will almost certainly stick to an AMOLED color display, for example, like Band 5 has and that’s the best type of screen that is widely used in wearables.
The Honor Band 6 is likely to stick to a silicone strap too, as that’s what its predecessor did, and it’s both good for training (which is a focal point of the range) and helps keep the cost lower than a metal one or leather option.
And the Honor Band 6 likely has the same fitness features as the Band 5 – it may have some new ones too, but it’s unlikely to lose much from its predecessor.
That means you can probably expect step tracking, as well as the ability to track numerous different types of exercise such as running, cycling, swimming, rowing, and more.
A heart rate monitor, at least 5 ATM water resistance, and sleep tracking are also very likely – although one thing that may not be there is the built-in GPS. The Honor Band 5 doesn’t have it, and while it could be added here, that’s the kind of feature that could drive the price up. On the other hand, it would also help differentiate the Honor Band 6 from its predecessor so that you never know.
