It’s always worth seeing the timeline of a particular trip along with the pictures you took along the way. Last month, Google Maps added a Travel tab to the timeline on Android, which shows a summary of past vacations and total kilometers traveled.
In June, the Google Photos app also received a redesign with a simpler interface with three tabs – Photos, Search, and Library – and a map view. The Search tab in Map View shows images that resemble a heat map and shows locations where you took pictures. These images can be browsed by tapping the heat zone.
The Google Photos app, which is widely used for backups, reached five billion installs on Google Play and was only the second app after WhatsApp to reach the milestone in 2020. Recently, the app also announced Cinematic Photos, a new feature that creates a 3D-like effect on some of your images.
