Google Meet adds a troubleshooting menu that users can use to analyze connectivity issues

Google Meet is releasing a new troubleshooting menu that makes it easy for users to understand how their local desktop and network environments affect the quality of their video call. With the new launch, aimed exclusively at end users, Google Meet aims to provide more insight into a system’s performance. Google Meet has added a few new features to the service in the past few months, including expanding the availability of breakout rooms and allowing users to virtually raise hands in meetings.

During a video call you can now go to the three dot menu and select the one Troubleshooting and Help Possibility, according to Google. This page shows your meeting ID at the top and a network stability diagram first. Users can browse this graph to see the connection delay in milliseconds. You can use the system load graph to keep track of Google Meet’s CPU usage over the past five minutes.

The menu also provides users with general tips for improving call performance and provides real-time feedback on the impact of actions on the network and processing load. Google also provides tips for users to do, including presenting content and recording meetings.

Google Meet has introduced a number of new features over the past few months. In November 2020, Google Meet expanded the availability of breakout rooms for customers with Google Workspace plans. The service also introduced a feature that allows meeting participants to virtually raise their hands to ask questions or indicate that they want to speak.

The Google Meet troubleshooting menu has been provided for all levels including Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education and Nonprofits .
