Download KeePassXC

KeePassXC is a community branch of KeePassX, a native cross-platform port of KeePass Password Safe, with the aim of adding new features and bug fixes to it and improving it to provide a feature-rich, cross-platform and modern open source password manager.

  • The entire database is always encrypted with the industry-standard AES encryption algorithm (alias Rijndael) using a 256-bit key. KeePassXC uses a database format that is compatible with KeePass Password Safe. Your wallet works offline and does not require an internet connection.

  • KeePassXC is a community branch of KeePassX, the cross-platform port of KeePass for Windows. Every feature works across platforms and has been thoroughly tested on multiple systems to provide the same look and feel to users on every supported operating system. This includes the popular auto-type function.

Open source

  • The full source code is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
  • We see open source as an important prerequisite for every security-critical software product. For this reason, KeePassXC is and will remain free as in freedom (and in beer). Contributions from everyone are welcome!
