Apple iPad with mini LED display, AirPods 3 starts 2021: Kuo

Apple could launch its first mini-LED display iPads as well as the true AirPods 3 wireless earbuds in the first half of 2021. This emerges from the latest research report by esteemed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TFI Securities. The research note to investors focuses on the Taiwan-based OEM career technology that Kuo will propose as Apple’s key supply chain partner for the upcoming product cycle. The new iPads and AirPods 3 are expected to go into series production in early 2021 and could even hit the market in the first half of the year.

Mini LED display on the new iPads

According to a report by MacRumorsAccording to Kuo, Career Technology will receive orders for certain components related to the manufacture of a mini LED iPad that will go into mass production in the first half of 2021. This means that the launch of the new iPad could happen in the first half of 2021 itself; A start in March or April would not be difficult to imagine.

Mini-LED is a new display technology that offers many of the advantages of OLED by using many individual LEDs to create the image in a similar way to OLED displays. Although not each individual pixel is controlled independently, the technology works in a similar way and is also said to be less expensive to manufacture. Apple is expected to push mini-LED display technology for many of its upcoming products, starting with the iPad lineup in early 2021.

Apple AirPods 3 is expected to hit the market in 2021

The report goes on to say that Kuo also expects the Apple AirPods 3 to hit the market in the first half of 2021. The new true wireless earbuds will have a different design than the Apple AirPods 2, with interchangeable earbuds and a shorter stem, just like the AirPods Pro. The key differentiator, however, will be the lack of premium features like active noise cancellation, which will keep the AirPods Pro as the flagship in Apple’s true wireless audio lineup.

Career Technology is expected to receive component orders for the AirPods 3 in addition to the Mini-LED iPads and is also likely to benefit from a possible introduction of Mini-LED displays on the next iPhones. Kuo’s predictions suggest that mini-LED displays will be heavily adopted by Apple in 2021, and the analyst has often been right in his research and predictions.
