“The notice Amazon sent to Raj Thackeray yesterday (Thursday) is illegal. If you need to do business in Maharashtra, you have to offer an option in Marathi, and if they don’t … then so (Amazon’s warehouse was similarly destroyed. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena will not have its stores and vehicles run in Maharashtra, ”said MNS official Amit Jagtap, who allegedly led the group that destroyed the godown.

The e-commerce company had reached out to a Dindoshi court in town, after which MNS chief Raj Thackeray was notified that he was due to appear in court on January 5th.

MNS had recently written a letter to the Amazon boss asking him to include the Marathi language as an option on its website for Maharashtra customers.
