Amazon India has launched a phone-only plan for Prime Video – it’s called Prime Video Mobile Edition – to compete with Netflix’s Rs. 199 Mobile-only plan, which is a global first for the e-commerce-first company. In contrast to Netflix, the Prime Video Mobile Edition from Amazon is directly linked to your prepaid tariff. Amazon is partnering with Airtel to launch Prime Video Mobile Edition. The available Prime Video content is bundled together with Airtel recharge packages from Rs. 89. All Airtel prepaid customers are entitled to a 30-day free trial of the Prime Video Mobile Edition. You can sign up for Prime Video Mobile Edition starting Wednesday, January 13th, 2:00 p.m. (today).
Best movie and television streaming services in India
Just like Netflix’s “Mobile” plan, Prime Video Mobile Edition delivers standard definition (SD) video quality on a single device. However, unlike Netflix, you can upgrade to the full Prime Video experience. This includes multiple profiles, simultaneous streaming, access to television and HD / 4K content. You can get Amazon Prime for 30 days by topping up your Airtel prepaid number with Rs. 131 – Amazon Prime costs Rs. 129 per month if you subscribe directly – or as part of the Rs. 349 prepaid plan that lasts 28 days but also offers unlimited calls and 2GB of data per day. This is not exactly new, as Airtel has been offering Amazon Prime for prepaid tariffs since 2018.
However, if you only want to enjoy Prime Video on your mobile phone, here you will find the Airtel prepaid tariffs with which you can access Prime Video Mobile Edition. All are available in the Airtel Thanks app or can be purchased in over a million Airtel stores across India.
