Almost half of the world’s consumers expect to be affected by a data breach

In today’s increasingly digital world, data breaches have become a fact. New research from OpSec Security has shown that nearly half (48%) of global consumers will face a data breach at some point in the future, while 30 percent are already victim to one.

To compile its latest Consumer scoreboard reportThe security company surveyed 2,600 consumers worldwide and found that 46 percent of data breach victims were contacted two to five times by companies to tell them their data had been compromised, while nine percent of respondents were contacted more than five times.
